In the summer of 2023 I received my first paid assignment: making a wedding ring. It was the first time I made something on behalf of someone else.
She wanted a silver ring with preferably a heart in the design. She also wanted a design inspired by nature.
Designing on behalf of someone else is a completely different way of working than what I was used to. I had a lot of conversations with her to find out exactly what she had in mind and I changed the design at least 3 or 4 times until she was completely satisfied.
I used curly shapes, inspired by climbing plants, and I managed to incorporate two hearts into the design.
She was very pleased with the final product, her wedding ring, and the experience was very satisfying for me.
